In April 2009, the FDA approved an injectable neurotoxin for temporarily smoothing wrinkles in the upper face: Dysport. Although new to the U.S., Dysport has been used overseas for many years.
Dysport works by temporarily relaxing facial muscles. It is made with the same ingredient as BOTOX® Cosmetic: botulinum toxin type A. Like BOTOX, Dysport is most effective in treating wrinkles caused by muscles related to expression lines around the eyes, forehead, and mouth.
At our med spa locations in San Diego, Carlsbad, Temecula, Chula Vista and Dana Point, the cost of Dysport varies based on the number of units you need. As a general rule, 3 units of Dysport are equivalent to 1 unit of BOTOX but have a lower cost per unit. Learn more about our injectables fees.
