What is microneedling?

How Does Morpheus8 Radiofrequency (RF) Microneedling Improve on Traditional Microneedling?
To start with, Morpheus8 penetrates deeper—4 to 7 mm, compared to traditional microneedling, which reaches about 2 mm. Add to that radiofrequency energy delivered to the skin’s deeper foundational structure, you get much more pronounced tightening and toning. With its 3 different interchangeable tips, we can customize your treatment based on the area and what’s bothering you.
What Does Morpheus8 Treat?
One of the best things about this platform is its versatility. It can be used on virtually any part of the face or body, and improves all kinds of common concerns, including:
- Skin laxity, including jowls and nasolabial folds
- Stretch marks
- Scars, including acne scars

What Is Morpheus8 Microneedling Treatment Like?
We’ll keep you comfortable during treatment by applying numbing cream. You also have stronger options, including:

- Tumescent numbing/nerve blocks
- Oral pain medication
Once you’re numb, your highly trained provider will begin applying the small, handheld applicator to the treatment area. The tip of the applicator houses the numerous tiny needles that penetrate the skin and deliver the RF energy. Your provider presses the tip to the skin for a few seconds, then moves it, continuing until the entire area is treated. Treatment sessions take between 15 and 45 minutes.
What is recovery from Morpheus8 RF microneedling like?
Unlike a facelift or other more invasive treatments, microneedling doesn’t require a big time commitment. That’s one of the things our patients in San Diego and Carlsbad love most about Morpheus8 RF microneedling. Many patients take the day of treatment off because there might be a little scabbing, redness, and subtle swelling afterward. You should also skip the makeup for a day or two.
Your results will take time to emerge as your underlying tissue is remodeled. Some patients are happy with a single treatment, but others do best with a series of 3 to 5 treatments.
